Timetables are on the Reading Buses website for all routes. The following routes come close to or through Theale:

  • Route 1 (“Jet Black”)
  • Route 26 (“Yellow 26″)

National Express and Megabus offer scheduled national services, and can be caught from Sainsbury’s (accessible by foot is possible from the east end of the High Street via a footbridge), just over the M4.

ReadiBus service: The ReadiBus service is available to people with restricted mobility who are unable to use ordinary public transport. It is fully wheelchair-accessible, door-to-door and bookable by telephone by phoning 0118-931-0000.

Carebus Volunteer Group: A voluntary organisation, Carebus gives priority to people who have a disability, people with limited mobility, and people who would otherwise be socially excluded, where it is clear that their needs cannot be met by public transport such as buses, coaches, trains and taxis.

ROAD:
What’s happened to the live cameras on the M4? Maybe they are going through a sticky patch, but the ones I’ve checked recently on the web have been hours out of date, or not operational. If anyone has a good link, please let us know. In the meantime, try your luck with these:

M4 (BBC Berkshire)
Central Reading
M25

  1. i think you should add the National express & megabus links – as they both stop at Sava and offer an alternative link to Heathrow and Central London without having to go all the way into Reading and out again
